1) What is EPGP? EPGP stands for Effort Points/Gear Points. It is one of the fairest DKP systems to date and features a point decay system and a relational priority ratio to determine loot distribution. Priority ratio is calculated as EP divided by GP. This encourages regular attendance, early spending and discourages point hoarding. To read a detailed writeup on this system, please refer to this website: http://code.google.com/p/epgp/wiki/TheSystem This system can be confusing to most at first, and will take some getting used to.
You can download the mod here: http://code.google.com/p/epgp/downloads/list to view your standings in-game. However, you can also view them on our website as I will be updating the standings after each raid night. *Apparantly the new Version 5.0 of EPGP does not allow for export to HTML, so I cannot update it on our website. If you wish to view your EPGP please get the mod and view it in-game.
2) Arashi's EPGP System This system is designed to be adaptable to different guilds, and here is how Arashi's EPGP will work.
2.1) Effort Points EP's are awarded as such:
- Punctuality for raids (meaning accepting a raid invite latest by 8.30pm +8GMT, no grace period): 25 EP
- Good progressive attempts on a new Boss: 50% of total EP for that boss (only awarded once at the end of the raid if boss is not yet killed)
- Boss Kill: Varies, please refer to Section 6 below
- Present from start till end of raid: 25 EP
- Being put on the the Waitlist for various reasons: Full EP as awarded to the raid or part thereof depending on the time you were placed on the list (refer to Section 2.8 for more details)
2.2) Gear Points GP's are credited as such:
- Receiving an item in a raid (GP value determined by item level and slot, detailed explanation below)
GP = 0.483 x 2 ilvl/26 + (rarity - 4) x slot mod
Item value is computed using the following:
| Rarity |
Value |
| Epic (Purple) |
4 |
| Legendary (Orange) |
5 |
Slot mod is given by the following table:
| Slot |
mod |
| 2H Weapon |
2 |
| 1H Weapon, Shield, Ranged Weapon |
1.5 |
| Head, Chest, Legs, 2H weapon |
1 |
| Shoulder, Hands, Waist, Feet, Trinket |
0.75 |
| Wrist, Neck, Back, Finger, Off-hand, Shield, Wand |
0.5 |
2.3) Penalties An EP penalty will be levied for the following misconducts:
- Unannounced AFK's and Extended(more than 5 mins) AFKs in raids without good reason: -50 EP
- Unprepared (No use of essential consumables on progression or hard bosses/No basic knowledge of fight beforehand, or not clarifing your doubts before the pull thus causing a wipe): -50 EP
- Consistently late (more than 20 mins) or missing raids with no prior notice when we expect that you'll be turning up on time: -100 EP per raid absent or late
2.4) Point Decay One of the highlights of this system is the point decay. Both EP and GP will be decayed by 10% at the start of each raid week.
What are the implications of this?
- It encourages early spending on items as your EP will decay if left unused. The earlier you start spending, the earlier your GP will begin to decay, giving you a better Priority ratio over time as opposed to spending on a bunch of items at one shot later on, as Priority = EP/GP
- It prevents point hoarding and inflation. The longer you hold your EP's without spending, the more will be decayed each raid thus wasting your stored EP's.
- It prevents irregular or inactive raiders from coming into a raid and winning loot over regular members. as their EP will be significantly decayed by the time they return to raid and they have to earn more EP's if they want to compete for loot.
2.5) Minimum EP/GP loot qualification To qualify for loot bidding, members will have to meet a minimum EP requirement of 1600 EP. (This does not apply for our initial core of pioneer raiders for the first month of raiding) There will also be a minimum GP of 400. What this means is that everyone will have 400 GP's credited to them when they first begin raiding and your GP can never decay below 400.
The rationale for the minimum EP is such: To ensure that only decently regular raiders are given the rights to bid for loot. If you are a new raider or a raider who has MIA'd for a while, you most probably will not meet this criteria and will have to earn enough EP's to be eligible for loot.
The rationale for the minimum GP is such: If you are MIA or irregular, the global decay will not reduce your priority ratio as both EP and GP are decayed by 10%, allowing you to return to a raid after an absense with the same priority ratio as before. The minimum GP will ensure that once your GP hits the floor of 400, your priority ratio will begin decreasing as only your EP is being decayed. This is also to prevent skyrocketing priority values for members who have just started raiding, and ensures that priority values will be kept in check for the initial stages of raiding without skyrocketing past the existing regular raiders.
If a piece of loot is uncontested by all eligible bidders, then it will be opened up to raiders who do not meet the aforementioned criteria. If nobody bids on the item for their main specs, then it will be open for off specs and alts at 10% of the original GP cost. If nobody bids on the loot at all, then it will be disenchanted and the resulting crystal will be kept by the guild bank.
2.6) Priority Ratio Tie Breaking In the event of a tie, the following steps will be taken to resolve the tie.
1) The Loot Council system will come into effect, and based on the GM and Officer's discretion, they will decide who gets the loot.
2) However, if the parties involved are of equal merit and the Loot Council cannot come to a clear cut decision, then a traditional /roll will be used.
2.7) EPGP Values for Farmed Bosses EP awarded for farmed bosses at the current progression level (i.e. Bosses killed more than 5 times) will be reduced and will only be worth 50% of their original EP. GP for items dropped off these bosses will also be reduced to 50%.
EP awarded for farmed bosses in lower progression levels will be reduced to 10% of their original EP. GP for items dropped off these bosses will also be reduced to 10%. There will be no decay applied for raids into instances of a lower progression level.
2.8) Waitlist You can be placed on the waitlist in 3 ways.
1) You were on time, but was asked by an officer/GM to sit out for other guildies.
2) You were in the raid originally, but was asked to rotate out for another guildie for various legitimate reasons.
3) You logged on late, and the raid is already underway. You message an officer/GM to be requested to be placed on the waitlist. If approved, you will be placed on the waitlist.
Please know that we can deny you a spot on the waitlist at our discretion for various reasons such as poor performance etc, meaning you will earn no EP's even if you're online waiting for the entire raid duration.
Note that if you are booted from the raid for misconduct/poor performance, you will NOT be placed on the waitlist. Also, to be credited full EP for being on the waitlist, you have to be on Vent or online on your main or alt, ready to be summoned into the raid at a moment's notice. If you fail to be contactable by either of these 2 methods, you will be considered as a defaulter and not get any EP's.
3) Sub Loot Council System The EPGP system will be tied together with a loot council system as well. This loot council system will only be invoked when absolutely necessary, and will be used at the discretion of the GM. The loot council can be used to deny/grant certain members their loot, and also to determine who receives epic pattern drops in raids based on performance and aptitude. The system can also be used to break ties in priority ratios. Loot council will only be used when called for, and even in its invocation, it will strive to be as fair and accountable as possible. Note that the loot council will always default tanking loot priority to the Main Tank.
4) 10 man and 25 man Progression Due to the hassle and logistical overheads of running a separate DKP for 10 man raids, there will be no DKP system used for 10 mans.
Instead, we will use the typical moderated /roll system, with some simple rules: 1) Priority for loot goes to mains and main specs first, then alts and off specs.
2) Official guild tanks will get priority for tank loot and shared tokens that give tanking gear.
3) If you have already won an item for your main toon and main spec in that run, you have to pass on the next item drop for your main toon and main spec, unless none of the other mains want it, or if all of them have already won something, then you can roll. However, this rule does not apply to shared tier tokens. These tokens are free-for-all regardless of whether you have won a normal item previously or not. This is to encourage people to roll on normal upgrades, without fear of losing a chance to roll for a tier token. Note that if you have already won a tier token in the same run, you have to pass on the next tier token roll.
4) Loot not needed by mains for their main specs are considered secondary loot, and are free-for-all to alts and off specs, but also please exercise consideration and pass on a piece of secondary loot if you have already won a piece of secondary loot earlier.
We will only default into 10 man raids when we do not have enough raiders to fill a solid 25 man raid, as our top priority is 25 man raid progression, and will always take precedence over multiple concurrent 10 man raids. (i.e. Having enough raiders on for 3 concurrent 10 man raids, but we will always choose to do a 25 man raid instead with buffer players on the waitlist.)
5) Handling of Epic Patterns, Rare Material Drops, Green/Blue/Purple BOE's and Resource Nodes As with TBC raids, most of the WOTLK raid instances will drop a bunch of epic crafting patterns, some rare materials and BOE Greens/Blues/Purples. Some of them will also have various resource nodes such as ore mines and herbs.
5.1) BOE Patterns crafting BOP Items These pattens will be charged the GP value of the crafted item. Crafters who wish to bid on the pattern to craft the item as an upgrade for their gear may do so. If nobody needs the crafted item as an upgrade, the pattern will be kept and sold by the guild bank for guild funds. If the crafted item requires certain rare materials that only drop from raid instances, these materials will be distributed for free to the crafter if available, otherwise they will have to source for it themselves.
5.2) BOP Patterns crafting BOE Items Because these patterns are BOP, they have to be distributed during the raid. However the crafted item is BOE and can be sold on the AH for a profit by the crafter, or crafted for guildies. So due to the nature of these patterns, they will be issued out as rewards for good performance at the discretion of the officers and GM. If a decision cannot be met, the shortlisted candidates will do a /roll to determine who receives the pattern.
5.3) BOE Patterns crafting BOE Items These patterns will be kept by the guild bank, and awarded as rewards for good performance/contributions to members at the GM's discretion.
5.4) BOP Patterns crafting BOP Items These patterns will be handled in the same way as section 5.1 except that if nobody wants the pattern, they will be left to rot.
5.5) Rare Materials Rare Materials are usually used for crafting. However, they can also be used to craft Resistance sets for certain resistance fights. (i.e. HoD's for Mother Shahraz) If there is such an encounter in the instance, these Rare Materials will be stockpiled by the bank for use on those fights. If there is no other use for the Rare Materials other than to craft normal epic gear, they will be released to guildies who require them for crafted item upgrades for free.
5.6) Green/Blue/Purple BOE's All Green/Blue BOE's will be looted by officers and either DE'ed, kept in the guild bank for member withdrawals or sold for guild funds. World drop epic BOE's that drop for us in raid instances will be kept by the guild bank and given as rewards for member contributions/good performance or sold for guild funds.
5.7) Resource Nodes All resource nodes will be harvested by the officers and kept in the guild bank. Absolutely no ninjaing of these nodes are allowed by raiders.
5.8) Pattern drops for 10 man raids They will be handled the same way as 25 man pattern drops except that instead of charging GP, it will be a /roll following the rules laid out in Section 4.
6) Boss Kill EP Values
ICC Sub-Bosses: 350 EP / 700 EP Heroic Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana'thel, and Sindragosa: 450 EP / 900 EP Heroic The Lich King: 500 EP / 1000 EP Heroic
Crusader's Colloseum Sub-Bosses: 20 EP Heroic Anub'Arak: 40 EP Heroic
First Kills: Double EP awarded for that boss
