If your a member of Fileplanet than you can get beta acess this weekend.

Ive been playing this with my son and have to say that the graphics are pretty impressive. Levels 1-9 are pretty difficult and slow. Mobs hit for tons, compared to leveling in wow and you have a very limited amount of attacks. At 10, once you descide what discipline you are going to chose, within your class, it picks up.

I doubt I'll be able to see any instances, dont have that much time to level and dont even know if they are open yet.

I've played alot of the newer releases as of late(warhammer, LoTR,AoC, etc.) and this, at first glance, appears to be far superior to resecent newer releases.

Not going to quit wow over this game but considering buying it and playing with my son some.

I know a few where interested in this beta last week so I thought Id give my impressions from this round of beta.

Beta #4 was focused on leveling from 1-25, they actually capped it at 25. My son and I leveled a spiritmaster to 22.

Going to try to give my view on wow vs aion take it for what its worth:P

Gameworld-
Zone maps where much more condensed that typical wow zone maps. What I mean by this, is that in wow, a zone map is pretty much open thorough the whole zone. In Aion, you are pretty much limited to a much smaller area confined around the main road that runs through the entire zone.

Travel-
You teleport between zones. Wow comparision inc, if you where traveling from Storm peaks to Dalaran in Aion, you would visit a teleporter(located at each major quest hub) and teleport from storm peaks to dalaran. Very nice IMO.

In each game map, there appears to be 4-5 "quest hub". Each one has a teleporter and a flight master. You can fly from "quest hub to quest hub", which makes traveling on foot not very painful.

Gathering/extracting

You can gather/extract all types of materials, from ore to herb, to fruit, etc. Each different type, has a required skill level. If you gathering titanium ore for example than in most cases, you will get 3 attempts at gathering. If you are sucessful, than you receive 1 ore each time. If you are not sucessful on one of the attempts, than you lose that peice of ore. You dont always get all 3 or whatever it is that you are attempting to gather. The higher your skill is over the required skill the better your chance appears to be to be successful. Leveling gather becomes really slow at higher levels. It very important as well. You will have several quests on each map that required you to turn in x amount of material for a quest. Very easy and lots of exp. Also crafting, from what I read, is very important for pve content
